April Philips Design Works, Inc., specializing in sustainable design and creation of outdoor rooms and spaces, is the landscape architect for the Bond. Working closely with the Client and the design team, the use of sustainable site strategies have been incorporated into the project. The Green elements include a River Rock stormwater collection system, the 300' long Living Wall along the urban courtyard for clean air filtration, and street trees for shade to reduce the heat island affect. The green living wall is the longest to be found in the United States. Other site features include an outdoor yoga room, dog park, community barbeque and a herb garden. The plant palette for the Bond is drought tolerant and chosen to thrive in the numerous ecosystems found in this urban environment.
